Northwick Park Hospital – Jonson Ward

T&B Building Contractors carried out a £350K refurbishment on the ninth floor patient’s ward at Northwick Park Hospital in London.

Northwick Park Hospital is located in Harrow and is managed by The North West London Hospitals NHS Trust. Each year, the Trust cares for more than half a million peopleliving across Brent, Harrow and beyond – making it one of the busiest NHS Trustsin the capital. Because of this, the construction work had to be carried outwhilst the department remained fully functional.

Part of the refurbishment was to install ten secure vision panels in the Jonson Isolation Ward (Intestinal Failure Unit) which is used for patients requiring nutritional assessment and management assessment. T&B Contractors specified Vistamatic secure vision panels having used them previously for various other projects.

The refurbishment and installation did not affect the normal everyday running of the hospital and Northwick Park Hospital was happy with the final refurbishment. Both patients and nursing staff were delighted to have new vision panels installed.

As well as ensuring patients receive privacy at all times, the secure panels play an integral role in keeping disruption to patients to a minimum. Nicole Baptiste, Lead Clinical Nurse on the Jonson Ward described the key benefits of the secure vision panels as providing instant privacy, enabling staff to monitor patients without disturbing them and promoting infection control.
