Vistamatic Enhances a Business Initiative

Running a complex business environment has to cater for ever-changing circumstances and two days are rarely the same. In a conference environment you need to control access to the venue, minimise interruption to presentations and meetings, enable delegates to find their way in an unfamiliar environment, ensure meetings can be conducted privately and make sure projected presentations are not disrupted by ambient light. Vistamatic’s Secure Vision Panels have recently been installed at a business centre in Wales to alleviate these problems.

The Orbit Business Centre is a state of the art centre next to the Welsh Assembly Government building and is situated in some of Wales’ finest countryside. Facilities include offices for new and growing businesses, a conference centre, meeting and training rooms, as well as offering comprehensive office support to its tenants. Funding for the project was generated by the EU, Welsh Assembly Government and the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO). Willmott Dixon, one of the UK’s largest privately owned construction, housing, property care and investment companies designed and built the project which forms part of Merthyr Tydfil’s regeneration scheme which has resulted in one of the fastest growing business economies in South Wales.

Richard David, who project managed the 47 week build, chose Vistamatic’s Secure Vision Panels for the doors of the meeting and conference rooms. The panels fitted in the meeting rooms give privacy to those in the room, as well as indicating the room is occupied or that the conference has started. Anyone knocking on the door can be readily identified at the flick of a lever. To give the user of the room full control over access, the control levers are on the inside of the panels.

By using secure vision panels, the Business Centre has achieved an enhanced wayfinding scheme that gives delegates confidence that they are in the right place and that they are not going to walk into the wrong meeting. Aesthetically, the panels are in keeping with the modern architecture of The Orbit Business Centre and add to the professional environment.
